About

When the idea of An Authors Way was first conceived, I wondered exactly what direction it should go in. Should it cater for the unpublished authors so they could have their work viewed and reviewed by the public? What about the ‘online agent’ approach, where I actually represent you in the publishing world? Or should it simply be a book review site, designed just to promote the finished article.

The question was answered when a previously unpublished author approached me and asked if I could proofread her novel. I was only too happy to assist and not only did I enjoy scouring through the manuscript looking for errors, but I also very much enjoyed reading the story itself, even suggesting a little editing to make the story flow better.

A while later, I asked how the book was performing and whether it had been published yet. She was a little despondent as many agents and some publishers had rejected her work and, as usual no feedback had been given. She was about to give it up as a bad job.

Kindle had been suggested to her but, like me, she loathed to put her book in digital format. ‘There’s nothing better than a good paper book,’ we’d often say. And it is right. But sometimes we just have to move with the times and accept that, while digital publishing will never replace a good book, it is here to stay, so why not use it?

So we set about another proofread and formatted it to the exact specification for Kindle. I then spent months learning about Kindle publishing and how to promote and sell the book.

I thought going down the Kindle route would be the best way for An Authors Way to succeed, but there are many people who prefer the traditional publishing road so I thought ‘Why not do both?’

And that’s what sets An Authors Way apart from other sites similar to this. Many, if not all, gear towards digital or traditional publishing, not both.

That’s what makes us unique

An Authors Way is different to anything else you may have encountered. We want to offer our authors a voice prior to publishing, or even before sending work off to an agent for consideration. More often than not, work that gets sent to an agent will never be viewed by the public, but An Authors Way will not only make sure the public see you masterpiece, but they will have a chance to review it too.

Not only that, but if you’re a traditionalist, we can proofread your manuscript prior to sending off to an agent, maybe even suggest a few editorial changes too. At the end of the day, the better your manuscript is, the more chance it has to succeed. And if you’re getting great reviews but nowhere with agents, let us try our luck with the publishers for you. You have nothing to lose so why not?

And if you’re the Kindle type, we can proofread and format your work, making it ready for publishing.

But Lets Go One Better.

We also offer a writers forum where you can talk to and share ideas with other authors. So if you’re suffering from writers block, let’s get talking and get you over the barrier. We’re creative writers; there isn’t a problem we cannot solve.

An Authors Way is a different way of getting noticed. We are different because we can be and we want to be.
